Welcome to Children's Hospital Lactation Center.  We are a part of Children's Hospital of Birmingham, Alabama.  The Lactation Center, founded by the Auxiliary, serves the Hospital's inpatient and outpatient population, Children's Health System employees and the community at large. Our staff is here for you before and after delivery.

The Children's Hospital Lactation Center is located on the ground floor of the hospital near the pharmacy, and we provide facilities for breastfeeding, pumping and patient consultations.  The mothers' room is available 24-hours a day once an access card has been obtained.  The center offers a larger room as well as a private room for mother and child.  Lactation Consultants are available Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for consultations and both well-baby and special needs assistance.  The Lactation Center is also a convenient place to buy breastfeeding related products without the hassle of making a separate trip to a crowded store.  Please come by and let us help you in any way possible.

Directions to the center:
From the patient parking deck:  After crossing the 2nd floor cross-walk, take the first elevator on the left (before the parking cashier) to the ground floor, follow the hallway to the left and the lactation center will be on your left before the pharmacy.

From inside the hospital:
Using the bank of elevators to the left of the atrium, go to the ground floor.  Take a right, proceed past the pharmacy and the lactation center will be on your right.
